Multi-award-winning rapper, songwriter, and musician Ti-Gonzi was arrested in Mbare, Harare, for reckless driving and possession of illegal drugs. Born Patrick Kauma Tarugarira, the 29-year-old musician was apprehended at the intersection of Cripps and Remembrance Roads, near Mupedzanhamo.


Ti-Gonzi was driving without a valid license when his erratic driving drew the attention of traffic officers. A search of his black Mercedes Benz revealed a half-bottle of Benylin cough mixture, two prepared twists of dagga, and two sachets of the drug.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed Ti-Gonzi's arrest, stating that the musician was taken into custody for contravening multiple sections of the Road Traffic Act. The charges include Reckless driving (Section 53,operating a vehicle without a driver's license (Section 6), Failing to comply with police instructions (Section 72), Possession of illegal drugs

The police are continuing their investigation into the matter. Ti-Gonzi's arrest has sparked a mix of reactions from fans and the public, with some expressing disappointment and others showing support
