A 62-year-old man from Binga has been sentenced to two years in prison after attempting to kill his wife during a violent domestic dispute that left her with life-threatening injuries.
The incident occurred at their matrimonial home in Binga during a domestic argument on 8 March 2026. The woman sustained severe injuries requiring urgent medical attention. The Zimbabwe Republic Police later arrested the suspect, who appeared before a magistrate's court facing attempted murder charges.
The court convicted and sentenced him to an effective two-year jail term on 10 March 2026.
The ZRP continues to warn the public about the dangers of domestic violence and encourages people to resolve disputes peacefully.
