A mine bus driver was injured on Wednesday morning after the vehicle was struck by a train at a level crossing in Hwange. The accident occurred at the Old Hwange Number 2 crossing, where the driver attempted to beat an approaching train but failed to clear the tracks in time. Fortunately, the bus was carrying only four people - the driver and three passengers - all of whom survived the collision .


Witnesses reported that the 72-seater bus, belonging to a local coal mining company, tried to cross the railway line as the train was approaching. The bus was hit by the train, and the driver was taken to the hospital for treatment.  Follow & Share Our WhatsApp Channel

The National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) has reminded drivers that the law requires them to stop at level crossings, even when no train is in sight. This incident highlights the importance of adhering to safety protocols at railway crossings .
