Four men from Bulawayo appeared in court today after they allegedly broke into a stranded motorist's vehicle and robbed him of US$18, 100 South African rands, a cellphone, and a car battery.

The incident occurred after the motorist pulled over when his vehicle developed a mechanical fault. The four suspects allegedly took advantage of the situation and broke into the car. They stole cash, a cellphone, and the car battery before fleeing the scene.

Police later arrested the suspects and brought them before a magistrate in Bulawayo, where they are facing robbery charges. The accused were remanded in custody while investigations continue.

Police have warned motorists to exercise caution when their vehicles break down, noting that criminals sometimes target stranded drivers.
