Arda Güler scored a spectacular 68 metre goal for Real Madrid against Elche Football Club on 14 March 2026, matching the longest goal ever recorded in La Liga history.
The stunning strike came from inside his own half and equalled the famous long range goal scored by Antonio José for CD Numancia against Sevilla FC in 2004.
According to Spanish football statistician Alexis Martín‑Tamayo, the goal also ended a long wait for Real Madrid, as no player from the club had scored from his own half in the Spanish league since Mikel Lasa did it against Sevilla in 1995 from 58 metres.
Güler’s remarkable strike quickly spread across social media, with fans praising the young midfielder’s vision and confidence.
