Industrial Growth in Mashonaland West Province

Mashonaland West Province is experiencing significant industrial growth, highlighted by the recent installation of a high-tech construction aggregate processing plant at Berry Tech Construction in Zvimba. The facility, part of a $200 million investment, will produce one million tonnes of quarry stones and 600,000 tonnes of washed sand annually. Minister Marian Chombo, Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister for Mashonaland West, expressed satisfaction with the project's progress, emphasizing its contribution to Zimbabwe's development trajectory .

The plant boasts the largest equipment of its kind in Southern Africa and is considered the most environmentally friendly and advanced in Zimbabwe's construction aggregate industry. Its products meet international standards, making them suitable for large-scale construction projects like railways, highways, and airports. This investment is expected to create about 200 jobs and train 100 professional technicians annually .

The project's key features include a construction aggregate processing plant with advanced, environmentally friendly equipment, and economic benefits such as job creation and contribution to Zimbabwe's economic growth and development. The investment also includes a 50-megawatt power plant, fertiliser and agricultural inputs project, gold mining, and explosives production .
