Warriors coach Mario Marinica has announced the squad that will represent Zimbabwe at the Four Nations Tournament, to be hosted by Botswana from 23 to 31 March 2026.

The omission of Marshall Munetsi from the squad has sparked widespread debate among fans, leaving many questioning why one of the country's most in-form players has been left out once again.

The controversy stems from lingering tensions following Munetsi’s exclusion from last year’s Warriors squad for the Africa Cup of Nations. At that time, the midfielder expressed disappointment after being left out despite having recovered from a calf injury. His club, Wolves, had assured the public that he was fit for the tournament. Reports from concerned fans have since raised questions about the relationship between coach Mario Marinica, Munetsi, and the ZIFA board.

Despite his absence from the national squad, Munetsi has been in impressive form for his club, recording three goals in five matches—notable statistics for a midfielder. As one of Zimbabwe’s most experienced international players, his exclusion has puzzled fans, who argue that he is a key figure, a potential leader, and a player whose presence provides stability to the team during this developmental phase.
