FC Hunters coach Nesbert Saruchera has moved to quash growing speculation surrounding the future of midfielder Denver Mukamba, insisting the experienced player remains firmly in his plans despite his conspicuous absence from recent matchday squads.

The former Dynamos playmaker, who joined the newly promoted Castle Lager Premier Soccer League side on a free transfer at the start of the season, has yet to feature for Hunters in the current campaign, prompting widespread conjecture that he may have already departed the club.

However, Saruchera addressed the rumours head-on following his side's narrow 1-0 defeat to Chicken Inn, revealing that Mukamba's absence is purely down to fitness concerns rather than any falling out or contractual dispute.

"Denver Mukamba is still with us. He has a medical problem but will be back with the team very soon," Saruchera stated firmly, drawing a line under the swirling speculation.

The veteran midfielder's arrival at Hunters was viewed as something of a coup for the promotion-winners, with Mukamba bringing a wealth of top-flight experience following his departure from Dynamos at the conclusion of last season.

His prolonged omission from matchday selection had raised eyebrows among supporters and pundits alike, with many questioning whether the talented schemer had already grown disillusioned with life at the ambitious club.

Saruchera's clarification will come as welcome news to Hunters fans, who have been eager to see the creative midfielder don the club's colours and showcase the quality that made him a standout performer in Zimbabwe's top division.

The coach's insistence on Mukamba's continued involvement at the club suggests the 31-year-old remains an integral part of his long-term vision, despite the early-season setback.

Hunters will be hoping to have the midfield maestro back in contention as they seek to climb the Premiership standings following a challenging start to life in the top flight.
