The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is preparing to take legal action against Zimbabwean fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani for breaching his contract with Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Muzarabani has signed with IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders, prompting the PCB to instruct its legal department to file a case against him.
A PCB source stated that the board wants to send a clear message to players that breaching PSL contracts to join IPL teams won't be tolerated. "Once you commit to the PSL, you can't just breach your contract and sign with an IPL franchise," the source said.
Muzarabani was brought in by Islamabad United to replace West Indian fast bowler Shamar Joseph. This isn't the first time a player has faced PCB action for contract breaches - last year, South Africa's Corbin Bosch was banned from the PSL for a season after joining Mumbai Indians.
The move highlights the ongoing clash between the IPL and PSL, with both tournaments now scheduled simultaneously.
