A private firm in Zimbabwe is set to receive locomotives worth $3.6 million from RITES Limited, an Indian-based firm. The deal involves the supply of operational Cape Gauge diesel electric locomotives, which will be delivered within three months.
According to RITES, the contract was awarded by Berhard Development Corporation (BDC) (Private) Limited, a Zimbabwean company that focuses on sustainable development across various sectors, including mining, manufacturing, real estate, and infrastructure. BDC has spearheaded several ambitious projects, including the Bern Win Utopia Eco Smart City and the Ber Pig Iron and Steel Plant. Follow & Share Our WhatsApp Channel
The projects are funded by Green Dollar Coin UK, a financial institution registered under the laws of the United Kingdom, secured and backed by a $3 billion Medium-Term Note (MTN) Bond. This bond serves as the underlying financial instrument supporting the transaction structure and providing assurance of liquidity for the proposed operations.
