The search for two apostolic sect members who were conducting a baptism ritual at Victoria Falls' Rapid Number 5 has ended in tragedy.
Their bodies were recovered near the falls on Monday and Tuesday, after they were swept away by the Zambezi River's strong currents on Saturday.
The river, infamous for its deceptive strength and home to crocodiles and hippos, has claimed lives before.
Local authorities, river rescue teams and rafting operators worked together to recover the bodies.
The incident highlights the dangers of the Zambezi's turbulent waters, especially during rituals or activities that bring people close to the river.
Victoria Falls, a major tourist hub, sees many adventure-seekers and pilgrims each year.
May their souls rest in peace.
The community is still reeling from the news, with many calling for increased safety measures along the river.
