US President Declares Temporary Control Over Venezuela After Military Operation

US President Donald Trump announced that Washington will assume temporary control of Venezuela following a large-scale US military operation that resulted in the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. Speaking to reporters at his Mar-a-Lago residence, Trump stated that the United States would administer Venezuela until a "safe, proper, and judicious" political transition is achieved .
