Yesterday, the Celebration Center Church in Borrowdale hosted the launch of the USD $5 million 2026 Munhumutapa Challenge Cup. The program will run for five years, with a cumulative investment of USD $25 million aimed at promoting sports development and community engagement.
The event was attended by His Excellency Cde E.D Mnangagwa, the Guest of Honor, Hon Tinoda Machakaire, Acting Minister of Sports, and Deputy Minister Hon Emily Jesaya. Key figures from the business community and sponsors also pledged their support.
The Munhumutapa Challenge Cup aims to foster competitive sports, create opportunities for young talent, and stimulate economic growth. The program reflects the 2nd Republic's commitment to promoting sports as a vital part of national development, led by President Mnangagwa.
