The Zimbabwe Republic Police has made significant strides in combating drug trafficking and substance abuse, with recent operations resulting in the interception of large consignments of drugs and unregistered medicines. In a series of coordinated operations across the country, police have arrested several suspects and seized substantial quantities of illicit substances.


Key Seizures and Arrests - The police operations yielded the following results 310kg of dagga and 1,600 bottles of Broncleer cough syrup were seized from two suspects, Leonard Mushava and Opprah Ndavambi, along the Harare-Beitbridge Road 110 dagga plants were seized from Tafadzwa Mare in Chipinge, who was arrested for unlawful cultivation.Johannes Ndarowa was arrested in Mutare for possession of dagga and bottles of Broncleer, Astra Pain, and Benylin cough syrups. Follow & Share Our WhatsApp Channel

Ivan Gombere was arrested in Macheke for unlawful possession of contraband, including cough syrups.
Toriane Pemba Ngoma was arrested along the Harare-Chirundu Road for possession of unregistered medicines, including Sildenafil Citrate tablets and Amoxicillin tablets.In Mutoko, police arrested Brighton Mazarura, Aleck Kadhoro, and Patience Nyaumba for unlawful possession of dangerous drugs, including crystal meth and dagga.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi commended the public for providing tips and urged continued cooperation to combat drug and substance abuse. "The Zimbabwe Republic Police will continue to intensify operations targeting drug syndicates and peddlers. We urge the public to report any suspicious activities," he said.
