The Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA) has announced the commencement of construction on a diversion route under the Msasa (Jaggers) Interchange Project, marking a significant milestone in the upgrading of one of Harare's busiest road junctions. The works are focused on the intersection of Harare Drive and the Harare-Mutare Road, an area notorious for traffic congestion, particularly during peak hours .
The Msasa Interchange Project is expected to significantly reduce congestion along Harare's eastern corridor, a vital artery for commercial, industrial, and commuter traffic. ZINARA said the commencement of the detour construction demonstrates the Government's commitment to modernizing key road infrastructure, improving traffic flow, and enhancing road safety in alignment with the country's Vision 2030 development goals .
ZINARA has urged motorists and pedestrians to observe all traffic signage and exercise caution while construction is underway to ensure safety and minimize disruptions. The project forms part of broader efforts to modernize the country's road network and support economic growth through improved transport efficiency.
