Premier Soccer League newcomers Hardrock FC have completed the signing of Zimbabwe international defender Gerald Takwara as the ambitious Kwekwe-based side continues to bolster its squad.
The 31-year-old centre-back joins Hardrock on a free transfer after leaving Iraqi side Al-Minaa when his contract expired.
Takwara becomes the latest high-profile addition for the club, following the recent arrivals of Eswatini duo Thubelihle Mavuso and Yekisizwe “Yeki” Khumalo.
A veteran of over 20 Warriors caps, Takwara returns to the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League five years after leaving Ngezi Platinum Stars. His career has also taken him to Tsholotsho FC, FC Platinum, South Africa’s Ajax Cape Town and Venda FC, and Saudi club Ohod.
The experienced defender’s arrival is expected to add steel and leadership to Hardrock’s backline as they prepare for life in the top flight.
