Bafana Bafana winger Relebohile Mofokeng is closing in on a move to Belgian Pro League side Union Saint-Gilloise following his standout performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, according to reports.
Belgian publication Het Nieuwsblad reports that Union Saint-Gilloise are nearing an agreement for the 21-year-old Orlando Pirates star, who has been on the club’s radar for some time.
The Belgian outfit accelerated their pursuit after monitoring Mofokeng extensively, with the winger further enhancing his reputation during South Africa’s historic World Cup run.
Mofokeng featured in three of Bafana Bafana’s four matches at the tournament, helping Hugo Broos’ side reach the knockout stages for the first time in the country’s history before a narrow Round of 32 defeat to Canada.
The attacker is coming off a stellar season with Orlando Pirates, scoring 10 league goals and providing eight assists in 27 appearances to help the club clinch the Premier Soccer League title.
Het Nieuwsblad adds that Union Saint-Gilloise are keen to complete the deal quickly. Mofokeng is expected to travel directly from the United States to Belgium to finalise the move, while the rest of the Bafana Bafana squad returns home following the end of their World Cup campaign.
